The conversation needs to change, we need to exude optimism and re-energise the nation, reframe the debate about under-working issues and instead focus on the joy of work and the huge personal benefits that working bestows.

To the Government, working is a habit, a daily routine, it becomes part of our everyday lives and when someone stops working they quickly fall out of the habit. To get people back into the habit we need to get people back into the workplace as quickly as possible. Work coaches, careers advisers and mental health professionals looking to help people all start on the back foot, fighting an uphill battle. Why not let the people do some of the heavy lifting for themselves? Once reacquainted with working life and experiencing real time the joy of work they can hone their focus and be more likely to receive assistance and secure their goals. 

Starting out with the over 50s this program can demonstrate how important it is to give people a "leg up" back into work and then moving forward Starter4ten could, with a few adjustments, be an invaluable tool to introducing young people into the world of working.

I need a meeting with government for a chance to convince them why Starter4ten is such an exciting opportunity and that can help put a spring back in the step of a million+ over 50s whilst giving a shot in the arm to many thousands of amazing companies throughout the country. As soon as I can persuade them to get on board we can get people to start dreaming about how different and exciting their futures might be.
